About Me

Thanks for taking the time to visit my site! Maybe you’re here after watching my TEDx Talk. Maybe you’ve met me at a business networking event. Maybe you’ve listened to one of my podcasts. Maybe I’ve spoken at your organization or team. Either way you’re probably wondering… Who the heck is this guy?!

So my name is Ryan Mazurkivich and I love to garden and travel, watch sports, play guitar and long walks on the beach… wait, wait, wait back up that’s not what you wanted to know…YES I am a hypnotist! You still here? Good! My background strangely enough is in drafting/design/engineering for which I was very successful at. While on the road for work I wound up working at a nuclear plant in the middle of nowhere South Carolina and after working all day/night less than 50 feet from the head of the nuclear reactor (and sweating from areas I didn’t know sweat was possible) I finally made it back to the hotel and rather than give it to the late night infomercials (honestly buy the shamwow, it’s a game changer) I chose to wind down watching YouTube videos.

I was 7/8 video’s deep into clips of Penn & Teller’s Fool Us when I kept seeing a video of some strange person named Derren Brown (the entire UK just collectively gasped). I gave into the curiosity and watched a clip from his Svengali stage show where a guy from the audience was brought on stage, hypnotized, and with his eyes open a needle was placed through the back of his hand… and he did not feel it!

I  immediately closed down YouTube and opened the Google machine and searched what are the magic words to hypnotize someone? After several pages and searches I keep reading that its all based on every day suggestions. I called BS because at the time I was afraid of needles and NO ONE was going to suggest I put a needle through the back of my hand! So the more I kept searching around and running into the “it’s all suggestion” BS I kept getting more and more frustrated. In fact, I got so pissed that by the time I flew back home to CT I already booked a hypnosis certification class with Lisa Zaccheo from Mind Matters Hypnosis in Avon, CT. on Easter of 2013 I received my Consulting Hypnotist Certification through the National Guild of Hypnotists.

After several years of private practice I “came back home” and joined the team at Mind Matters Hypnosis where I now see clients one on one out of our West Hartford location and over zoom video calls as well.
